Tributes pour for gospel singer and a radio personality, Bulelani Koyo

After battling Hepatitis cancer, singer Bulelani Koyo an Eastern Cape gospel singer and a radio personality has today succumbed to the devastating illness leaving his fans and supporters in shock and sadness.

He worked for Umhlobo Wenene which hosted a benefit concert for him this past weekend. His passing on has saddened everyone, including his friends, family, and fans. 

Following national efforts from friends and supporters to help Koyo with medical bills, his passing has left everyone heartbroken. Tributes have been streaming on social media following the outbreak of the news.

His colleagues and friends had been asking people for help so that he could get treatment for the illness since June. 

It was earlier announced that the cost of his treatment was estimated to cost R30,000 a month. From donations to organizing concerts for him, his friends had been requesting help to meet these costs.

Various gospel artists, choral singers, jazz musicians, and his co-workers, who are radio personalities, performed on the day.

He will be remembered for his multiple talents as an author, composer, and singer.

Many will miss his show Ikwayala Eziphambili on Umhlobo Wenene every Sunday from 13:00 to 15:00.

The most recent record under his name to be released is the gospel CD Enkosi Jehova.
