Cricket South Africa Takes Control of Border and Northern Cape Cricket

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has assumed control over the operations of Border and Northern Cape Cricket (NCC).

CSA exercised its rights under the Memorandum of Incorporation to intervene in the governance of the two cricket unions. This action comes after both unions struggled to meet CSA Regulations, including failing to submit unqualified audited financial statements on time and concerns about non-compliance with standard governance practices.

In light of this, the boards of Border and NCC have been temporarily dissolved, and CSA has appointed administrators to oversee the unions’ affairs during this intervention period.

Greg Fredericks will oversee Border Cricket, while Jesse Chellan will manage Northern Cape Cricket. Both administrators will assume their roles immediately.

CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki explained, “The decision was made after careful deliberation by the CSA board and extensive discussions with both unions. We believe this intervention will help both Border and NCC improve their governance, financial stability, and overall operations, reinforcing their position as CSA members moving forward.”
